Last week we went to see a local play by Lee Cataluna called "Da Mayah". It's in pigeon, the local dialect in hawaii, but one that I have difficulty with... So I was having lunch with Shannon before the play & was telling her I was going to see "Da MAYA-ah" (this is how I had been pronouncing it for weeks). Then she asked me what it was about & I said, you know 'bout the mayor.
So then Shannon said something of the likes, "isn't it called da mayah, like mayor in pigeon?"
Ooops... HA!
