Donte's 1st birthday

Saturday we went to Donte's first birthday party (Lei's youngest son) & it was a safari theme. We had so much fun hanging out with the girls & catching up with friends. Lei is really good at throwing over the top parties & sticking to a theme. It was like being at a carnival, she had a ton of kiddie games, crafts & the decorations were amazing. Here is Marley cat, she was too cute!

Marley is in love with Lei's oldest son DJ. Marc had to give Marley a prep talk before the party so that she limited her hugging, chasing & kissing. DJ is one of her MANY boyfriends, I really can't keep up with how many boyfriends she has. She is going to be a heartbreaker! Uncle Josh & the girls.

Why worry?

As much as I complain about my job there are days where it is truely rewarding. I do enjoy my job as a nurse & I am thankful that I am not the patient lying in the bed. A few weeks ago I had a wonderful patient, so wonderful I was hoping he won't get better so he would stick around to keep us laughing. He had the best local jokes, I wish I remembered them all. He also had the best outlook on his illness & never complained. When I asked him how he stayed so positive he gave me this little saying Why Worry?
In this life there are only two things to worry about. Either you will be rich or poor.
If you are rich, there is nothing to worry about. But if you are poor, there are only two things to worry about. Either you will be healthy or sick. If you are healthy, there is nothing to worry about. But if you are sick, there are two things to worry about. Either you will live or you will die. If you live, there is nothing to worry about. If you die there are only two things to worry about. You will either go to heaven or to hell. If you go to heaven, there will be nothing to worry about. If you go to hell, you'll be so darn busy shaking hands with all your friends, you won't have time to worry! SO WHY WORRY? -Author Unknown

GCA dinner/night out on the town

On Saturday we went to the annual GCA dinner with Josh's work down at the Hilton. It is boring, but I love any excuse to get dressed up! The dinner wasn't that bad, we got to sit with some fun people & listened to the Mayor & Governor give speeches. At the end of the night Willie K performed & it was an amazing concert. Here we are in the taxi going to the dinner. We love Taxis!
Natalie, Phil, Me & Josh out at Aaron's nightclub. George & Natalie flew over from Maui for the event so we went out after dinner to celebrate George's big promotion with lots of Champagne. Oops, didn't get any photos of George. We were out until 2 in the morning which is really late for us old folks!! Ran into Lei downstairs of the hotel.
Whoo-hoo long night out for the Stinsons!

2008

Happy 2008!!! This was taken at Midnight while we watched fireworks at my Uncle's house. Whoo-hoo!
Josh's parents hung out with us for New Year's, it was great to spend time with them. They are brave to have hung out with my family the entire night.
Marley & Macie enjoyed the fireworks with their earplugs in. New Year's day I had to work..boohoo! So I missed out on Ozoni (Japanese mochi soup), we eat it every year for good luck. My cousins, sister & aunts packed me the best bento with all the leftovers. My sister was nice enough to make me ozoni when I got off of work so hopefully 2008 will be a lucky year. Josh went to Ozoni brunch & took this darling photo of the girls in their tutus.
OZONI soup...YUM!!!

Carson's first birthday

Marley looking really grown up. She went shopping earlier in the day with her Mommy & picked out this shirt. Can you guess what is her favorite color?

On Saturday we went to my cousin's son's first birthday party. I wish I had taken some pictures of Carson, but he was always on the move. They had this terrible magician who sadly couldn't find the card Stacy had picked out of the deck. We were really embrassed for him, especially when he was trying to hide stuff in his wrist sweatbands. I'm not sure Josh was too amused with the magician after he called Josh a backstreet boy.

There was a cupcake decorating station from Hokulani bakery, I wanted to take home the whole bag of frosting. YUM! Technically the cupcake station was in the kiddie area so we kept taking turns walking Marley so we could grab a few cupcakes for ourselves.

Hee Hee!

Check out this blog dedicated to Tacky Christmas Yards. This is pretty funny! http://tackychristmasyards.com/

Christmas

Here are some pixs from our very busy Christmas. Christmas Eve we went over to the Yangs for the traditional Christmas Eve dinner & gift exchange with the Sugihara side of the family. The cousin picture wasn't as crowded this year because the other Sugihara cousins were in India :(. Who knew at 30 we would still be excited to exchange gifts with each other?
Cousin picture with Granny & Papa
Sugihara, Miyamoto, Stinson annual Christmas photo. Check out Josh's modeling pose, he's such a ham. Macie was doing her grumpy ladybug face.
Uncle Vernon made a great roast for dinner, YUM. Uncle Josh proudly showing off his new nephew.
Meowy Christmas Miso!
I have secretly always wanted to be a crazy cat lady, you know those people that collect weird cat things like the cat clock with the tail as a ticker. Since moving in with Josh I have had to tone down my urges to buy cat trinkets, but alas my in laws got me the best Christmas gift (pictured above). I love it! It's not a sister for Miso, but it will do. The Stinson Christmas tree!!
Christmas morning we got up late & opened gifts. Santa was really GOOD to me this year!!! Josh not so lucky, there was a nose hair trimmer from Santa. I guess that's what happens after 1 year of marriage... Then we went over to the Petersens & watched Jack open some of his gifts.
Christmas night we ate dinner at my parent's house. Marley was really excited to tell me no one got coal in their stocking & that Santa gave her the Enchanted dress she's wanted for months.

BaBee!!

Christmas came early for the Petersens. Today our 2 year old nephew Jack became an older brother!!
Shane & Kirsten welcomed CARSON DWAIN PETERSEN. Born 12/22/07 at 0815 am. 7 lbs 12 OZ. & 20.5 inches. He's perfect, just like Jack! He has a full head of dark hair & blue eyes.
While we waited to go to the hospital to meet Carson we played with Jack at the park & practiced his football drills. He has quite the arm & was able to throw the football over the fence. Check out that form! Josh has already booked his sports agent.

PCL Christmas Party

This past Saturday was Josh's company Christmas party down in Waikiki. PCL always knows how to throw a great party, they didn't nickname the company "People Consuming Liquor" for nothing! We partied hardy & enjoyed the live band.

Smooches!

Me & the other wives (Sheronita & Lori) We are all neighbors in the HKhood & hang out when the men are watching football.
I love this picture with the arm linkage.
Brian (Sharnita's husband), Josh & I gathered by the xmas tree. What's going on boys?

I thought this was a festive picture of Jon & Lori. They are both Beaver believers so we love them that much more.
3 month old Sophia Burkards made her appearance at the party & helped her Mommy Natalie drink some wine.

View from our room the next morning. Diamond head was SO green from all the rain had this past week. I don't think I have seen it that green in a long time. Good times in Waikiki.

Lanai

We went to Lanai for a few days to get some R&R! We were pampered & taken care of the entire time. We did nothing, but relax & ate really really really good food.
We even had some serious S.S.R. by the fireplace up at the lodge. View from the entrance of Manele Bay where we stayed. SO beautiful. A night out at the hotel.
HA! It's Josh on our Lanai on Lanai drinking some Champagne.

Josh went skeet shooting up at the lodge & was in hog heaven. It is supposed to be the nation's best skeet shooting range. I was going to give it a try, but was SO out of my element & intimidated. On the ride up there a bunch of guys were talking about their duck hunting season & that is when I wished I had stayed poolside for the day. When we got up to the shooting range the guy told us to read the rules & to ask if we had any questions. I didn't understand half the rules about handling a gun so I figured I would just watch. We got our own golf cart & rode around to different stations, here we are at the Hare & Partridge. I really enjoyed the clever names. I got to press the remote controls to release the skeets, sounds boring but was really fun because we never knew where they would be released from. Josh was really good at shooting the skeet, what is he not good at?? Overall I had a great time goofing around with Josh & being out in the wilderness, but you won't see any gun racks on my car anytime soon.

Jack

Uncle Josh teaching Jack to skateboard. Josh was excited he made it into the Petersen's Christmas newsletter this year for introducing Jack to skateboarding. Josh was even kind enough to lend one of his many skateboards to Jack.

Too cute!! Sporty Sprout!

Summer, Simon & Asher visit

Summer (Josh's older sister), Simon & Asher came to visit us & the Petersens (Josh's sister that lives here) during Thanksgiving.

Asher enjoying the baby pool.

We took over the baby pool at the Oahu Club! Shane pulled Jack around the pool so he could practice his surfing. Good work Shane for not spilling your beer.

We gave Shane & Kirsten a break & took our nephew Jack out to the Zoo with Summer, Asher & Simon. Josh crawled through the tunnel with Jack to look at the fishes, which was quite a sight to see (not the fish, but Josh crawling). Jack has been to the zoo so many times he was our tour guide. We loved it when he pointed out the blue herring.

We took Summer, Simon & Asher on the lighthouse hike to work off some of our Thanksgiving lbs.

Bowling for 40's

A few weeks ago we celebrated Katy's 40th birthday by going out on the town & "bowling for 40s". It was a night of fantastic fun!

Sombrero anyone? I am looking a bit haggered after a long day at work.
Hey look it's Badonkadonk & Nipples the infamous bowling pair from the 89 Olympics. Great bowling shirts by the way...
Hee hee Chris & his blue ball!!!
Josh & Lou (Katy's fiance) enjoyed the night because their nicknames for each other are "40". Good times!

Macie's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe Macie has turned the big 3! The Miyamotos & our family went to Farrell's to celebrate her birthday.

Notice who is now wearing the birthday hat... Marley & Macie sharing my root beer float. Jeez, save some for your favorite Auntie.
