Happy work happy play=Hanahauoli

On Saturday, we went to the annual Hanahauoli auction at the convention center. It's a big event for us because our entire family went there including my Dad. Marley is there now & we are crossing our fingers Macie gets accepted next next year. Marc formed a band with the other Hanahauoli dads called "da bus boys", it's pretty cool because some of the dads have never performed before. They were very good & already landed a gig this at a wedding.
Pam Piper was there because her daughter attends Hanahauoli. It's surprising to see her there because her Dad is a saint over at Punahou. Denise, Robin & I (pictured above)

This is probably one of the best auctions because they have so much stuff to bid on. It's also fun to watch the live auction because people spend mega $$$.

Hawaii visitor

Kari, Kirsten & Carson (under the blanket) at the beach.

Josh's little sister Kari came to visit us for a week from Seattle. We had a lot of beach time, hungout with Carson & Jack at the beach, went parasailing & saw some dolphins, went hiking & saw whales, ate out alot & visited many of the LOST filming locations. Kari is a big fan of the show, however Josh & I don't watch LOST so we were abit...lost visiting these sites. Here I am getting my Blackened ahi-ness.

Carson getting his nap on at the beach. Too cute!

Dump dump

My Sister & I spent the past 2 days cleaning my Mom's house & getting rid of lots of S**T! Good times...not! We threw away alot of stuff. Since, Salvation Army no longer takes toys we had a lot to throw away. We ended up renting a huge Uhaul & going to the dump. The dump was actually really fun, despite the smell. You get to throw all the trash into this big open area. It was very invigorating & I got a lot of stress out. Robin was really proud that she was able to drive the big truck, so luckily I had my camera & was able to capture this precious moment.

Super Bowl 08

Superbowl sunday was a mellow afternoon hanging out at the Polis' house drinking beer & eating lots of pupus. If you can't tell by these pictures we were really bored with the game & the commercials. Jeff took a nap/passed out...big mistake, but great entertainment for us.

Cable for superbowl...90$ Beer for superbowl...45$ Food for superbowl...$90 Dressing up Jeff...priceless

I think I'll just take a quick snooze?! I don't think anyone will care.
Yeehaw! Looking good & the bowl is still balancing on his hand. Sheronita what else can we dress him up with?
Right before the "COUGH". If it wasn't for him coughing & waking up we really would have had some great shots, I mean think of all the possibilities he was on a rolling chair! hee hee~

Thanks Brian & Sheronita for being great superbowl hosts. We had a great time & your chili was fantastic. Maybe next year the commercials will be better?
Jeff & Jenna. Go Giants!

Bettis & J MAC's Bday Bash

Saturday night we helped celebrate Chris' 40th birthday & JMac's 30th birthday with a huge surprise birthday bash. Words can't really explain how much fun we had, we are so lucky to have fun friends. The night started off with ALL of us boarding a catamaran for a sunset sail. It was a bumpy, wet & wild ride.

The birthday boys, Chris & JMAC.

Lou, Katy & Heather. We tried to hunker down in middle so we won't get wet...despite our efforts we got soaked. We filled up the entire catamaran except for this random Japanese couple, who had the worst sea legs. The lady landed up in my lap because she insisted on standing up the whole ride, the guy almost fell off the side of the boat & cut his knee. It was kind of scary, but I couldn't stop laughing at them. I planned that if they went over I would grab his gucci shirt, I know so wrong of me...

Stinsons on the high sea.

After the catamaran ride, we headed down to Tikis to surprise them again with a huge birthday bash. When we left the catamaran ride we all told Chris & Jmac we were tired & had to go home. They were pissed that everyone was leaving.
Lou & a glowing preggo Taryn.

Chris, Tanya, Liz & JMac. Tanya & Liz planned the entire birthday bash in just a few weeks. I can't wait to see us all out in ten more years. I think it will be the same, just some of us will be in scooters.

How many more birthday shots can we take?

PUNAHOU CARNIVAL!!

PUNAHOU CARNIVAL!!!
Friday afternoon I went to the Punahou carnival with my sister, the girls & some of their friends from school. It was a rainy & wet carnival. I knew I was OLD when I packed an umbrella with me & then actually used it. Okay, for all the Punahou cmalasada lovers check out this picture of the malasadas I got at the carnival. Do you notice it looks small & doughnut like because of the hole punched into it? Who is the novice working at the Malasada booth? I need to work quality control next year... Oh wait, I hate working at the carnival! Marc & Blair were brave & worked at the fried noodle booth. YUM!

Check out Marc's beverage contraption, it hangs off of his belt so that he can carry everyone's drinks. It's also handy because the girls can just grab their juices when they want. So clever!
Maya came & hungout with the cousins at the Carnival. She is such a doll.
I ran some hot malasadas up to Papa & Granny after the carnival. Papa loved the malasadas!!

Donte's 1st birthday

Saturday we went to Donte's first birthday party (Lei's youngest son) & it was a safari theme. We had so much fun hanging out with the girls & catching up with friends. Lei is really good at throwing over the top parties & sticking to a theme. It was like being at a carnival, she had a ton of kiddie games, crafts & the decorations were amazing. Here is Marley cat, she was too cute!

Marley is in love with Lei's oldest son DJ. Marc had to give Marley a prep talk before the party so that she limited her hugging, chasing & kissing. DJ is one of her MANY boyfriends, I really can't keep up with how many boyfriends she has. She is going to be a heartbreaker! Uncle Josh & the girls.

Why worry?

As much as I complain about my job there are days where it is truely rewarding. I do enjoy my job as a nurse & I am thankful that I am not the patient lying in the bed. A few weeks ago I had a wonderful patient, so wonderful I was hoping he won't get better so he would stick around to keep us laughing. He had the best local jokes, I wish I remembered them all. He also had the best outlook on his illness & never complained. When I asked him how he stayed so positive he gave me this little saying Why Worry?
In this life there are only two things to worry about. Either you will be rich or poor.
If you are rich, there is nothing to worry about. But if you are poor, there are only two things to worry about. Either you will be healthy or sick. If you are healthy, there is nothing to worry about. But if you are sick, there are two things to worry about. Either you will live or you will die. If you live, there is nothing to worry about. If you die there are only two things to worry about. You will either go to heaven or to hell. If you go to heaven, there will be nothing to worry about. If you go to hell, you'll be so darn busy shaking hands with all your friends, you won't have time to worry! SO WHY WORRY? -Author Unknown

GCA dinner/night out on the town

On Saturday we went to the annual GCA dinner with Josh's work down at the Hilton. It is boring, but I love any excuse to get dressed up! The dinner wasn't that bad, we got to sit with some fun people & listened to the Mayor & Governor give speeches. At the end of the night Willie K performed & it was an amazing concert. Here we are in the taxi going to the dinner. We love Taxis!
Natalie, Phil, Me & Josh out at Aaron's nightclub. George & Natalie flew over from Maui for the event so we went out after dinner to celebrate George's big promotion with lots of Champagne. Oops, didn't get any photos of George. We were out until 2 in the morning which is really late for us old folks!! Ran into Lei downstairs of the hotel.
Whoo-hoo long night out for the Stinsons!

2008

Happy 2008!!! This was taken at Midnight while we watched fireworks at my Uncle's house. Whoo-hoo!
Josh's parents hung out with us for New Year's, it was great to spend time with them. They are brave to have hung out with my family the entire night.
Marley & Macie enjoyed the fireworks with their earplugs in. New Year's day I had to work..boohoo! So I missed out on Ozoni (Japanese mochi soup), we eat it every year for good luck. My cousins, sister & aunts packed me the best bento with all the leftovers. My sister was nice enough to make me ozoni when I got off of work so hopefully 2008 will be a lucky year. Josh went to Ozoni brunch & took this darling photo of the girls in their tutus.
OZONI soup...YUM!!!
